Journalism was Kendra Wert’s first choice for an elective because she may major in it in college. Her most meaningful class was her freshman English class with Mrs. Sahayak, which developed her love for writing. After high school, Wert plans on attending East Strousburg or Albright for either journalism or environmental sciences. Wert has other interests, including environathon, prom committee, and friends. When she has down time, she loves to read her favorite author, Sarah Dessen. Wert’s favorite form of writing is the essay because it helps one write in a more developed way, which she hopes to apply to her articles. Lastly, her biggest inspiration is her mom because she’s shown her how to be strong and independent as a woman.
