Over the past few years, many rock stars have published autobiographies of their lives, such as well-known and influential stars Slash, Ozzy Osbourne, and Keith Richards. Tony Iommi joins them with Iron Man: My Journey Through Heaven and Hell with Black Sabbath.
Iommi, the guitarist of Black Sabbath and one of the most influential musicians in the heavy metal genre, has proven with his autobiography that he is capable of making a good book. Iron Man is a look that enters into the life and times of Tony Iommi and barely disappoints.
As one would expect in any autobiography, it is full of information about life as Iommi sees it. From telling you how he developed a way to play guitar after losing the tips of his index, middle, and ring fingers on his fret board hand, to singing happy birthday to irate Satanists. Iron Man has a lot to tell.
To put things frankly, Iron Man is a good book that meets expectations and is well worth the read if you are interested in the subject of Tony Iommi’s life or just enjoy reading rock star autobiographies.
