Misa’s Fugue is almost here. The highly-anticipated documentary made by Fleetwood students and staff is nearly finished.

The documentary tells the story of a holocaust survivor, Frank Grunwald. The movie portrays the everyday struggles of the people who were subjected to the horrors of the holocaust as well as Frank’s personal stories.

“At this point we are finishing up the project. We have credits to do and minor touch-ups,” Director and FAHS media teacher Sean Gaston said.

Students and teachers at Fleetwood witnessed a rough cut–i.e. an unfinished version of the film–recently.

“The movie is better than I could have ever imagined. It went from 116 pages of transcript to an emotionally stimulating and visually appealing masterpiece,” screenwriter and FAHS English teacher Zachary Houp said.

“I think the movie is a very emotional and informative at the same time. It is a good mix of real footage and cinematic composition,” Student and film contributor Devin Wenzel said.

The movie will premiere on 16 April at 7:00 p.m.. The screening will be held at the Miller Center for the Performing Arts, located on RACC’s campus. Many people from across the country and world will be there.

“Frank, his wife, and his sons will all be in attendance. Guests are coming from as far as the Czech Republic,” Gaston said.

The film will be airing at the GoggleWorks from 20 April through 26 April. Regular ticket prices do apply for the film. The premiere is fast approaching, so get your tickets now and experience this life-changing film starting on opening night.
