For most, the second a person steps foot into high school his or her freshman year, he or she wants to be a senior; no one likes being the underclassman. Not only is being the oldest nice, but you get a lot more privileges than the underclassmen.
One of the best things about being a senior is a relaxing schedule. Most say that junior year is the hardest, so having a relaxing year of classes is much needed and deserved.
Although many seniors develop “senioritis,” most still manage to pass. Because most graduation requirements are met by senior year, that leaves room for easier classes and a lot of slacking.
Another nice thing about being a senior is getting some freedom during the day and eating lunch outside. Although seniors at some other schools are allowed to leave the school for lunch, Fleetwood seniors make do with what they are given. They also get to be first in line to eat the delicious cafeteria food every day.
Though making college decisions is very stressful, it is the most relieving thing in the world to know that you are almost done with high school for good. Friends and high school sports will certainly be missed, but those are thoughts that most seniors try to avoid.
Even though academics can be hard sometimes, teachers usually favor the seniors. Of course, there will be teachers who make it hard on you, but for the most part things are easy.
Most seniors never have any homework and can spend their nights with friends.
Senior year is by far the best year I have had, but I’ve also experienced some depressing moments knowing it is all coming to an end. Every day the future becomes more real. The idea of college and life after college becomes less of a fantasy and more of a harsh reality.
