Underclassmen Aspire for Senior Status

Every underclassman wishes he or she was a senior on more than one occasion throughout high school. One might ask why everybody, including I myself, wants to be a senior.

Senior year is the end of the road for students. I am looking forward to walking in front of everyone on graduation day, when Mr. DeAntonio announces my name, when I will walk across the stage to shake hands and receive my diploma and officially begin my life after high school.

Accomplishment is the main reason I am looking forward to senior year–for all the hard work I put into all my school work throughout my thirteen years of public education.

Senior year will also be a relaxing, laid-back kind of year after probably one of the hardest school years: junior year. Junior year is the year colleges notice you. The main goal going into your senior year is to try to find a college to attend the next year if you are even planning on going to college.

“I am looking forward to being a senior because I am looking forward to the basketball season; it’s going to be great!” Kyle Flannery, a Fleetwood sophomore, said.

During senior year, students savor every moment with friends as if it is their last because, hey, it just might be. That might be the only thing that will bother me during senior year: the fact that my friends will be split up after high school.

Senior year cannot come soon enough!
