Powder Puff Football made an appearance at FAHS on Friday, October 8th, for the Homecoming festivities. The game consisted of male cheerleaders and female football players from each grade. The event started off with Juniors versus Freshman and Seniors versus Sophomores.
The final rankings placed Freshmen in fourth, Sophomores in third, Juniors in second, and Seniors in first.
On the sidelines, Mrs. Sahaydak and Mrs. Wilkinson were selling pizza and beverages. The pizza boxes were emptied by the end of halftime, earning a sizeable amount of money for student council.
The Powder Puff game turned out to be a hit among the audience.
“I thought it was pretty awesome,” exclaimed Krismarie Ortiz, “especially when it got down to the wire between the Seniors and Sophomores.”
Tom Gorgia said, “I practiced my toe touches for three weeks so that the senior class would pull through with a victory.” Continued Gorgia, “The skirts were really short.”
“I thought the bow looked really [attractive] on me!” commented Corey Unger.
The Powder Puff game seemed to be an overall success. School spirit was at an all time high, and the students and faculty became very involved. The Powder Puff game is looking as though it will be a tradition that lasts for years to come. Fleetwood students are already looking forward to next year’s game.
