Favre Family Legacy Tarnished Further

Thursday, January 13th—this was a day when the students of Fleetwood were in school bettering themselves as human beings.  Meanwhile, Brandi Favre, younger sister of superstar quarterback Brett Favre, was arrested in Diamondhead, Mississippi.

Brandi was among five criminals arrested on the 13th, but none of the others have the celebrity status of her family. The group was caught with nine grams of methamphetamines, which has a street value of about $1,000.00.

This is not the first time Brandi has been involved in criminal activities. In 1996, she was allegedly involved in a drive-by shooting; however, she was never proven guilty. She was also caught shoplifting clothing and boxes of chocolate from a department store.

Moreover, Brandi is not the first Favre to be involved with illegal activities such as drug manufacturing. Older brother Brett was also involved with substance abuse in 1996. On May 14th of that year, he admitted to having a substance problem with painkillers.  He voluntarily entered a treatment program. He was also treated for alcoholism because his family and friends were concerned about how often and how much he would drink.

Although the Favre legacy will live on for many years after Brett’s retirement from football (if that ever happens), another side of the Favre legacy will forever be filled with harassment scandals, drug abuse, and the production of illegal substances.
