If you haven’t heard of the band Forger, you’re obviously not keeping up with the local scene. To not know Forger is to not know some of the greatest local hardcore music in the area.
With influences such as Touché Amore, Converge, Minor Threat, and Verse, Forger is a four piece aggressive Hardcore Punk band comprised of Keith Goldoni (Drums), Nick Robertson (Bass), John DiStefano (Guitar), and Zach Sclafani (Vocals)–four guys with a powerful message of peace over preaching.
“We are a hardcore band that loves God but we try to steer away from praise and worship and focus more on the cancers in our society, such as racism, domestic violence, and importantly staying positive with all circumstances in life,” Scalfani said. “To forge is to create, as we see God as our creator, or as our Forger. However, to forge is also to push forward carefully. We want our fans to take our music and use it to push through life carefully with a positive attitude.”
Forger has done a lot within the last year, including touring and recording an EP. In January, Forger held a mini-tour in surrounding states with many different bands.
“I love being able to hand-off the microphone to those who know the words and let them take over the set,” Scalfani said.
Upon their return home, they continued to record their yet-to-be-named EP in WerleyBird Studios.
With their positive messages and dirty music, Forger has many local shows coming up with hopes of finishing and releasing their EP soon.
