LeBron Looking to Make History

LeBron James was born on 30 December 1984 in Akron, Ohio. James grew up loving basketball and always showed his passion for the sport. In 1999, St. Vincent- St. Mary high school recruited the young prodigy to play for the team. James was a very talented player in high school, helping his team to win three state titles.

James recently stated that, by the end of his career, he will be on Mt. Rushmore of the NBA all-time greats. The superstar has been compared to the NBA’s greatest, Michael Jordan, many times.

“I think LeBron will end his career as one of the greatest, if not the greatest of all time,” junior Gary Gabriel said.

James was drafted to the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he really began to make a name for himself. He was soon highly regarded as one of the top players in the NBA and huge talent for the future. Unfortunately, James did not win an NBA title during his time in Cleveland.

“LeBron James is definitely the best player in the NBA and has been for a couple years now. I think he will end up as one of the greatest of all time,” senior Doug Karpuek said.

In 2010, “King James” decided to take his talents to Miami to play alongside all-star friends Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh. In his first year with the Heat, he led his team into the NBA finals, where they eventually fell to the Dallas Mavericks. The following year he led his team to win the NBA finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder, and then for a second time the following year against the San Antonio Spurs in a thrilling series.

“The 2013 NBA finals were so entertaining; I couldn’t afford to miss a minute of it,” junior Wyatt Pennsinger said.

If LeBron James wants to ever be considered the best over Michael Jordan, he will have to win a few more championships. The 29-year-old already has two of them but will definitely need to snag a few more, considering MJ won 6 of them. James is still young and has plenty of time to achieve that status.
