Field of Screams is a haunted attraction that’s been around for twenty-six years that was created by brothers Gene and Jim Schopf. It includes a haunted hayride, two haunted houses, and a haunted trail.
They have four heart-pounding attractions. There’s the Nocturnal Wasteland, which is their newest and most terrifying attraction. It’s a trail in the woods filled with horrifying sceneries and petrifying creatures that chase you. It also have impressive special effects.
Haunted Hayride is the most disturbing and heart-pounding ride of your life. It’s a tractor-pulled wagon that takes you through a horrifying corn field. Highlights include The Wrecking Crew, who await for the arrival of visitors in The Chop Shop, and Dirty Dan’s, where a hillbilly family stays. Visitors come to find out why they love having them over as guests.
Their third attraction is Den of Darkness, which is a 3½ story building built back in the late 1800s with a mysterious past. Over the past 200-plus years, it has served as a barn, a hotel, and the mansion of Francis Worth. The barn has been vacant for many years due to horrific and unexplained events that occurred within the confines of its walls, but now it is themed from top to bottom with things that will scare you to the core.
FrightMare Asylum, which used to be The Applegate Mental Hospital and Asylum, which ran for more than one hundred years, is a four-story Asylum that was condemned and abandoned in the late 1900’s. This new and improved Asylum is filled with deranged doctors, nightmare nurses, and disturbed inmates.
Field of Screams also has a lot of entertainment available. There’s a Scream Shop, where you can shop for souvenirs; there’s always some type of entertainment on their main stage; there is also footage of Field of Screams being featured on The Travel Channel as one of America’s Scariest Haunted Attractions.
