Just like every other summer, Warped Tour is on its way! Warped Tour is a music tour festival that is held in venues such as parking lots or fields upon which the stages and other structures are erected. The shoe manufacturer Vans has sponsored the tour every year since 1995.

Warped Tour was originally just “punk rock” music, but nowadays it is a wide variety of genres.  The festival has featured as many as 100 bands, with each playing for up to 30 minutes at 10 different stages. Warped tour is a day packed with music. It starts at around 11 a.m. and typically ends around 9 p.m.

Warped Tour was created in 1994 by a gentleman named Kevin Lyman, who realized the idea while working on skateboarding shows. It wasn’t until 1998 that Warped Tour went international, visiting places such as Australia and Japan.

As well as music, this tour brings many attractions, including a half-pipe for skaters and bikers. The tour also features many booths creating a flea market-like atmosphere, having tents for each of the bands to sell merchandise, and featuring representatives from independent record labels, magazine publishers, non-profit organizations, and sponsors looking to market their products to the tour’s audience. Many of the bands will retreat to their tents after their performance in order to meet up with the fans and sign autographs.

Warped Tour is a great place to see your favorite bands play. Tickets cost $43.00, and there are a wide variety of locations where you can attend the concert. This year, the closest venue to Fleetwood is Scranton, Pennsylvania, which is about two hours away.

If you love music and jammin’ with your friends, add Warped Tour to your “to do” list this summer!
