Becky Jarosynski, current social studies teacher at Fleetwood Area High School, taught business at Fleetwood for seven years before being moved to her current position at the onset of 2011-2012 school year.

“Due to the Retirement of Mr. Ghessi and our School Budget cuts, it was decided by the administration to move me from a business teacher to a social studies teacher to better serve the district at this time,” Jarosynski said.

Jarosynski graduated from Kutztown University with a Bachelor’s of science degree in secondary education social studies.  She taught eighth grade American history for one year at Exeter Junior High School and taught one semester of American Government for the Reading High School alternative education program. All in all, Jarosynski has been an educator for twelve years.  In addition to teaching social studies, Jarosynski has acted as an instructional aide, annual daily substitute, and business education teacher.

FAHS principal Michael DeAntonio said, “If it was needed, Ms. J[arosynski] would teach business again or even a mix of both social studies and business to help out the current business teachers.”

During her years of teaching business, Jarosynski learned a lot about computers; however, she does not have any more interest in computers.

“At this point in my career, I find the opportunity to teach social studies most enjoyable,” Jarosynski said.
