The Devil Inside Not Worth Exorcising

The Devil Inside is quite possibly one of the worst scary movies ever made. The teaser trailers make it seem like a captivating, thrilling flick that would actually scare you, but it is actually the complete opposite.

The movie is based on events that took place in 1989, where emergency responders received a 911 call from Maria Rossi confessing she had brutally killed three people. Twenty years later, her daughter Isabella seeks to understand the truth about what happened that night. She travels to the Centrino Hospital for the Criminally Insane in Italy, where her mother has been locked away, to determine if her mother is mentally ill or demonically possessed. When she recruits two young exorcists to cure her mom using unconventional methods, they all get a good look at the numerous powerful demons that live inside Maria.

Sounds scary, right? Nope. Not at all.

Although the fact these demons live inside this girl and jump from person to person is indeed creepy, the movie was poorly made, and the ending was absolutely terrible. [Spoiler Alert] At the end of the movie, the demons inside Maria somehow enter into Isabella’s body, and she winds up in the hospital, killing a nurse. The guy that was filming the documentary and the one exorcist who is still alive flee the hospital with Isabella in their car. On the way home, the demon in Isabella jumps and inhabits the driver’s body, and he crashes the car, and the movie ends.

The movie then goes to credits, where they tell you that no one knows what happened to any of them, and the demon is still out there somewhere, waiting to inhabit your soul. Going to see this movie was a waste of my time, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. I give it a D.
