“It’s an awesome feeling, knowing that coaches all around the county notice my skill and acknowledge it,” First Team All-County player Danny Lopez said.

Every year towards the end of the season, coaches from every team around the county get together and vote for All-County and All-State Selections. This year,Fleetwood had three students receive such awards. Seniors Danny Lopez and Edwin Enriquez both were awarded First Team All-Berks County for soccer.

Through the years, students from Fleetwood have received multiple awards, not just from soccer but from every sport, including field hockey and basketball.  But most came out of Soccer.

Back in the day, a man named Troy Snyder received a lot of honors during his time. Some say he was the best soccer player to come out of Fleetwood, with an astounding 208 goals and 115 assists throughout his four years. He was named to the All-American team, the All-State team, and he was also the Player of the Year.

Senior Alyssa Delp was selected as Berks Player of the year as well as an All-State team member. Her hard work paid off, but not many of those who follow field hockey were too surprised.

Delp has been named to the All-State team two years in a row. Her hard work paid off because now she has a scholarship to Temple University for field hockey.

“[It felt] pretty good,” Delp said before moving on to her selection on the All-State Team.  “Most of the coaches have seen me play and have seen me progress over the years because of the club team I play for.”
