Nancy Castiglioni may not be a completely new face to the Fleetwood Area School District, but she is a new face to the high school.

She began her Fleetwood experience in January of 2009 as a substitute teacher.  Castiglioni then upgraded to a long-term substitute for Mrs. Smith, a fifth grade teacher, during the 09-10 school year. By the next year, she was full-time as a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher in the middle school.

Along with teaching in the middle school, she assisted Rory McMullen in coaching the Cross Country team in 2010. The boys’ team came in 10th in the county and the girls’ team came in 11th under their combined coaching.

Castiglioni was even able to coach several members of the team in Hershey for the 2010 District 3 AAA Championships.

“It was an amazing experience and I learned a lot,” Castiglioni said.

This year she joins the high school as a Family Living and Independent Living teacher in place of Gina London.

Before being a part of the Fleetwood Area School District, Castiglioni went to college for hotel, restaurant, and tourism management. She also achieved her certification in Elementary Education.

“Having the two backgrounds and loving them both, I put them together to have an amazing career,” Castiglioni said.
