Teachers pick the students that are chosen for student of the month. This is also something for which only seniors  can qualify. Parking spaces in the front are reserved for the students awarded Student of the Month. Student Council advisors recommended the  Student of the Month program because they thought it would be good for the school.

Blane is the son of Sean and Jennifer Scanlan. He plans to attend Penn State University to become a mechanical engineer.

“It’s nice to be recognized.  I like it. It is nice of the teachers to do that,” Scanlan said.

During his free time, he likes to participate in student council and Science Olympiad. He also enjoys model building.

Blane’s advice for others is, “Never give up, and always stick with something.”

Kae is the daughter of David Huang and Christine DeLise. She plans to attend Coastal Carolina to major in Health Promotions.

“I am honored to be chosen by my teachers to be student of the month. It was awesome being recognized for a lot of clubs I help out with,” Huang said.

During Kae’s free time, she enjoys hanging out with her friends and managing the football team with her partner in crime, Irene Licari.

Kae’s advice for others is, “Always know at the end of the day someone is here for you, and never give up on anything you’re passionate about in life.”
