The Fleetwood boys’ soccer team is 11-4-1 in the 2014 –15 school year. They are in the PIAA class AA category.

The boy’s team is ranked fifth in the class AA District 3 standings. The top eighteen teams make the district 3 playoffs.

If the playoffs started today, the boys’ team would play thirteenth seed Pequea Valley, which has a record of 10-5-1.

“It’s a pretty great feeling,” senior Mitch Kinek said.

Kinek, who is a starting midfielder for the boys’ team, is leading the team in goals with seven; he is also a captain for the Tigers.

“It’s just great being a senior and being able to take this team to playoffs again,” Kinek said.

Austin Young, who is the team’s second leading scorer, is also a captain and plays the midfield position. Young has four goals and three assists for the year.

The season started off with the Tigers beating Quaker Valley 2-1. They then played the defending PIAA Class AAA state champions and tied them 5-5. The Tigers then went on to win every league game except for their heartbreaking loss to Twin Valley. The Tigers, who are 8-1 in the league, are second in their league and still have a chance to win the league with one game remaining for the season.

Their final game was on Wednesday, 8 October, against Schuylkill Valley. It is the boys’ senior night, as the seniors will be recognized for their four years of playing soccer in Fleetwood.

“It’s a great feeling to be able to play in another postseason,” senior Matt Hook said.

Another notable fact about the boy’s team is that they celebrated their nine-hundredth win this season.
