Fleetwood’s September Students of the Month are Ethan Miller and Rebecca Reinert. Both seniors have shown that they deserve the award through their academic successes, community service work, and involvement in extracurricular activities.
Miller has been very involved since he came to Fleetwood Area High School. He has been involved in the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and National Honors Society (NHS). Athletically, he has participated as a lineman on the football team, and he has also competed on Fleetwood’s track and field team.
After graduating, Miller plans to attend college. At this point, he has not decided if he wants to study business or nursing. Miller has explored a career in nursing by volunteering his time and services with the Reading Hospital.
Ethan’s role model is Kelly Ackerman, the business teacher at Fleetwood Area High School. She teaches him the aspects of the business world.
Reinert earned the award through her exceptional performances in class and in music. She is one of the drum majors this year, along with fellow senior Nicole Spanier. Throughout her high school career, Reinert has participated in marching band, wind ensemble, band, chorus, and Orchestra. Outside of music, she has also played on the softball team and participated in Book Club. Through her church, Reinert has helped the community. She regularly volunteers with her church’s service projects.
Reinert’s role model is her mother. She looks up to her strength and ability to succeed as an independent and loving person.
Reinert’s plans are to attend college to become a middle school teacher while also majoring in special education.
Both of the recipients this month have earned their awards through over three years of hard work. Both continue to work to achieve a bright future.
