Football Season to Come to a Close

The Fleetwood football season is coming to an end, and this is a disappointment to the whole team. It was a rough year for Fleetwood football, as they only have one win coming into the last two games of the season.

With a new quarterback, it is tough to come right into the season and expect for the season to start off amazing. For Trevor Koenig, it was difficult to jump into a new position randomly. He has made a fast change and is fitting into the role nicely.

Fleetwood beat Schuylkill Valley early in the season with a score of 20-14. It was a very close game as it came down to one second on the clock, with Schuylkill Valley in the red zone. The defense came up strong and held SV’s offense to capture the win.

There have been some very close games this season as they fell short to Reading by one point in overtime. Daniel Boone was also very close, as they fell short one point as well. To  Eastern Lebanon County, they lost by three points.

Fleetwood’s last two games are against Governor Mifflin and Kutztown. Mifflin will be a very tough team to beat this year, as they are playing well. Kutztown isn’t as good as Mifflin, but it will be a close game.

Fleetwood football has not lost to Kutztown in a long time, and they look to continue the streak this year by beating them at home. The rivalry between the two has been going on ever since the teams started, and it’s a very important game to which everyone in Fleetwood generally looks forward.

Kutztown is having a much better season than the past couple of years, actually winning games this time around. The competition might be more difficult, and it might be a closer game accordingly. The team still hopes to win and keep the streak alive.
