On Tuesday, 18 September 2018, Brooke Crews of North Dakota claimed she cut a baby out of her neighbor’s womb.

Savanna Greywind, the neighbor, was eight months pregnant at the time. Crews stated that she felt pressured to “produce” a baby after lying about being pregnant to prevent her boyfriend from leaving her.

Brooke spoke out in trial of her now ex-boyfriend, William Hoehn. William is now charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

Last year, Crews did plead guilty to murdering Savanna Greywind (22) and is now serving a life sentence without parole.

Brooke Crews told defense attorney Daniel Borgen that she did not specifically tell Hoehn that she planned to kill Greywind or steal her baby, but she did believe it was an ultimatum.

Greywind’s daughter did survive the horrific incident and is being raised by family.

The medical examiner who performed Savanna’s autopsy, Dr. Victor Froloff, testified Monday that he is not sure whether Greywind died from blood loss or strangulation.

Savanna was found in a plastic bag and dumped in the Red River. Savanna’s death reached out to North Dakota Senator Heidi Heitkamp, who introduced “Savanna’s Act.”

This act aims to improve tribal access to federal crime information databases and create standardized protocols for responding to cases of missing and slain Native American women.

“I think it was planned because, if she lied saying she was pregnant, then she needed a baby somehow.  Maybe it was not planned to get the baby from Greywind but another woman. I do not think the baby will have complications, but maybe she will, depending on how she was cut out. I do believe that Crews deserves the death penalty because she literally murdered an innocent women and stole her baby,” Fleetwood Area High School Senior Chloe Allison said.
