Yulisa Orozco, born on 16 April 2004, is a senior at Fleetwood Area High School. Originally from Reading, Orozco moved to the Fleetwood at a young age and grew up in the district. She comes from a full house of five siblings and five pets. When asked how this home environment has shaped her character while growing up, Orozco said she learned compassion and thankfulness. Three words she would use to describe herself are friendly, caring, and loving. She selected these because she tries to be friends with everyone, checks up on people to see how they’re doing, and tries to make sure to, “… give others the love they deserve, whether they are going through some things or not.” These traits translate to her customer service job at the McDonald’s in Leesport, where she has been employed for close to two years now. A quote Orozco lives by is, “You don’t have to be perfect, but you do have to be 100% committed,” by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. This particular quote inspires Orozco because she is a self-admitted perfectionist, and it makes her feel less stressed to have it in the back of her mind throughout the day.

As a senior, when asked if she would go back and do it all again, Orozco was quick to decline. She says her favorite part about being in high school has always been seeing her friends. She would rather watch the sunset as opposed to the sunrise on her way to school in the morning. Outside of school, Orozco enjoys art, playing soccer, and watching movies. Her preferred genres are comedy and romance but not romantic comedies! After graduation, Orozco plans to get a college education. In five years, she hopes to be well on her way with that, as well as, “happy and living with the person I love the most.”
