Both April students-of-the-month say it came as a total surprise.

Every month, Fleetwood Area High School names two senior students the “Students of the Month.” It is awarded to two students who excel academically and personally.

Matthew Foose and Francesca Snyder have been selected as the students-of-the-Month for April. Both are active and engaged students who were happy to be awarded this honor.

“When I found out I was student-of-the-month, I was pretty surprised because it really showed me that I was an amazing and smart student,” Matthew Foose said

“[Matthew Foose] is one of the hardest working students I’ve ever encountered,” English teacher Mr. Zachary Houp said.

“I was definitely surprised; I really didn’t expect to get picked,” Francesca Snyder said

“You kind of have to get teachers to notice you by doing cool or impressive things or being good at stuff,” Francesca Snyder said.

Snyder is involved in field hockey, Science Olympiad, Paw Print Magazine, chorus, marching band, concert band, drama club (of which she is president), National Art Honor Society (of which she is also president), Rho Kappa, and National Honor Society, in addition to being an all-state musician for chorus.

Both Foose and Snyder have proven themselves to be dedicated students.

Both will be graduating on June 7, 2023, and moving on to the next stages of their lives.
