Owen Williams is a senior at Fleetwood Area High School. This year, the 23-24 school year, will be his second year writing for the Tiger Times; that’s how much he loves journalism! He has been going to Fleetwood all his life, despite having moved throughout Fleetwood and Schuylkill County. In school, he enjoys the social studies programs that Fleetwood has to offer, enjoying participating in classes such as history and journalism. However, he does wish for Fleetwood to offer a philosophy class, as philosophy is his favorite subject, despite not being offered in school. He is the oldest of two siblings, with a younger brother and a younger sister, 7 and 12 respectively. He also enjoys all sorts of combat sports, such as kickboxing, MMA, and Muay Thai. He has been involved with combat sports for the past four years. For work, he loves working at a movie theater, having worked there since his sophomore year. After graduating high school, he hopes to enlist in the Army and serve in the intelligence field, working as a signals intelligence analyst. He wants to join the Army rather than go to the civilian side as he is “big on discipline, and the Army meets that.” Although he does want to enlist in the Army, he is considering college prior to serving, although this is not definite. If he were to go to college, he hopes to study criminology.
