Fleetwood FBLA Competes at Regional Competition

On December 18, 2023, the Fleetwood chapter of Future Business Leaders of America attended the regional competition at Albright College. 

Every student that attended placed in the top five for his or her event. Twenty-five of these students qualified for the state competition as well. States for FBLA will take place in April. 

At the regional competition, students can compete in several different events, such as social media strategy, business management, job interviewing, and many others. Some of these events are competed via tests, and others require students to present their work in front of judges. 

Senior FBLA member Hailey Olivieri competed in the social media strategies event at regionals. This year, she worked tirelessly to perfect her slideshow and presentation in hopes of earning first place. She had been preparing for the competition since September. 

 “I’m constantly doing FBLA work, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world,” Olivieri said. 

 She earned first place in the competition. 

“As the names are going off, I’m starting to realize I’m placing higher and higher, and then they called my name… I went into shock, and I almost started crying–I was so happy!” Olivieri said. 

FBLA allows students to compete in an event of their choice at competitions, like regionals. Students can compete by themselves or in a team with friends. 

 “It’s been such an amazing experience… I’m so beyond grateful every time I get to go to things like regionals,” Olivieri said.
