Fleetwood Area High School lost beloved classmate and friend Benjamin Miller this January.
Ben was a notable football player and a tenacious defensive lineman. He had a great love for the sport of American football.
Matt Riffle, Ben’s coach, had spent a lot of time with Ben.
“Ben never backed down from anyone and never allowed his lack of size to stop him,” Riffle said. “He played much bigger than his stature, and when you needed a big play, he was often the guy to get it done! Ben was also a fun-loving kid who kept his teammates and friends smiling and laughing. He was fiercely loyal and had their backs in any circumstance and without question.”
Fleetwood Senior Aidan Baker will miss the sibling relationship he shared with Ben.
“We just did everything together,” Baker said. “He was always at my house. He was a good kid and had a lovable heart, and that is why I think my family loved him so much.”
Baker will remember most of Ben’s silly moments.
“He was just a goofball, and I miss him,” Baker said.
Ben was a friend of many classmates in Fleetwood. He will not only be remembered for his time spent in the school but also for the impact he made on so many people’s lives.
The Fleetwood Area School district will continue to honor Ben and the Miller family, hosting spirit days during which Ben will be remembered and celebrated.
“Anyone that was fortunate enough to really know him is forever a better person because of it,” Riffle said.
