Three members of the National History Day Club, Tony Zhang, Ian Bieber, and Adrien Leriche, took first place at the regional competition on March 2nd, at Messiah College.

The team’s victory indicates a milestone for the team, as they advance from the regional competition to the state competition at the University of Scranton in May.

The team won with the help of their advisors, Mr. Todd Weiss and Ms. Becky Jarosynski, both FAHS history teachers. The team presented The Age of Revolutions, showing its impacts on the modern world. Their detailed presentation set them apart and secured them a first place victory.

“The revolutions from 1776-1820 seemed like a pretty big turning point in history,” Bieber said. “We had an interest in the topic.”

The focus of the team’s presentation was on how the revolutions in that time period altered the modern world’s geopolitical scenery.

The team is looking forward to their next competition–this time at the state level in Scranton. They have worked tirelessly since the regional competition, adding things the judges from the prior competition suggested.
