On September 11th, 2025, at approximately 7:30 p.m., a neutered tuxedo cat named Mikey, who lived in a feral cat colony of the Pennwood Crossing Mobile Park of Bucks County, was murdered.

Considering the nature of the killing, it is believed to have been premeditated, as it appears to be connected to several other cat mutilations confirmed in the area.

A projectile shot was observed in his still-warm and bleeding body at 7:30 p.m. on the night when he was found.

“We are very sad to report that another cat has been shot and killed in Bucks County… Bucks County SPCA is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) involved in the shooting,” The Bucks County SCPCA Facebook posted on September 15th.

“[I] cannot comprehend how someone could do this! Just horrible; makes me sick… Rest in Peace, Mikey; you didn’t deserve this…handsome boy,” Facebook commenter Liz Maul said on the news.

“No [I was not aware of the killings],” Fleetwood Area High School junior and cat-owner Dreyden Flory said. “I’m not sure [if the killings are connected]. It’s a possibility… The killings are probably just another case of people being psychopathic [sic].”

“I have three cats, Frodo, Sam, and Howie–all rescued… They’re indoor because I live on a busy street, and it would be irresponsible otherwise,” Fleetwood Area High School junior Sophia Toucher said.

“Prison, good amount of time…mental help…” Toucher said when asked what she thought the punishment for the perpetrator should be.
