
Seniors Zofia Funari and Sophia Glover have been picked by Fleetwood Area High as November students of the month for their advantageous contributions to their communities and education. Funari and Glover have shown their educational and social dedication in many ways through clubs, classes, community service, and friendliness.
These girls have shown by example their contribution to creating successful lives for themselves at Fleetwood Area High and being great role models to all of those who wish to make the most of their high school career.
Zofia Funari is the daughter of Jenna and Gregory Funari in Blandon, and she admires her parents greatly for supporting her by being her biggest fans within her various activities. Zofia Funari has made a large effort to apply herself in musical and social endeavors. These activities include the ASL Club, Blood Drive , Chorus, Choraliers, Concert Band, Drama Club, Dart Club, Enviro-Thon, Field Hockey, Internship Program, Marching Band, National Honor Society, Rho Kappa Historical Honor Society, Sustainable Students, Women’s Chorus, and the Women’s Empowerment Club. Funari also participates actively in the Fleetwood community’s Girl Scouts. Outside of Fleetwood, Funari has been accepted into Senior Counties for both chorus and band this year, as well as District Choir. With such a busy schedule, it is no wonder that she is admired as an exemplary student at Fleetwood Area High.
In the future, Zofia plans to major in elementary education at a university.
Sophia Glover is the daughter of David Glover II and Stephanie Andersen, who live in Fleetwood. She also lives with her little sister and dog.
“I truly admire my mom because she has shown me what it means to work hard and be the strongest version of myself,” Glover said.
Sophia has been involved in many clubs related to creative endeavors and activities pursuing her educational interests. The hobbies held by Fleetwood Area High include Book Club, Drama Club, Mock Trial, Model UN, and the National Art Honor Society.
Since middle school, Glover has also been making advances towards her education by taking college classes. Sophia has also dedicated herself to the Fleetwood community by volunteering at the Youth Advisory Board of Berks County and has collaborated with Reading’s Sustainability Task Force.
Following her graduation, Glover plans to travel to Europe in the summer of 2026 in pursuit of studying languages before furthering her education in linguistics.
