The matchup had some hard swings, early penalties, and good performances that helped the Sabres pull away.
The Sabres and Flyers are longtime NHL rivals. Both of these teams are going for stronger standings in their own conference. The recent performances for each team showed the Sabres struggling offensively and the Flyers with a good defense.
The final score of the game was Sabres 2, Flyers 5. In one of the key plays early on, Sabres’ lead Jason Zucker scored a power play around 4:08 in the first period giving the Sabres a 1-0 lead.
Head coach Rick Tocchet said that the team still needs a little more improvement in some areas.
“I think we run around too much when the pressure comes.. There are some certain things that need to get a little better,” Tocchet said.
The Flyers had a couple of early penalties that led to the Sabres’ first goal on them.
