On December 18th, Fleetwood Area High School welcomed new inductees of FAHS alumni to its Sports Hall of Fame with an induction ceremony.

The Sports Hall of Fame is a way the high school celebrates its accomplished alumni within the sporting world and encourages district pride.

A tribute to hall of fame members who have since passed away were included, such as Tony Didyoung.

Guest speaker, Ken Sanders spoke at the ceremony.

Attendants enjoyed light refreshments in the high school cafeteria.

Greg Miller (no affiliation with Fleetwood Superintendent Greg Miller), class of 2006, received a plaque for his excellence in soccer, basketball, and baseball. In 2006, he was declared Reading Eagle’s athlete of the year.

“My time at FAHS was incredibly enjoyable, positive, and formative. I had a great group of friends, influential teachers, and supportive coaches,” Miller said. “FAHS helped shape my athletic career by instilling discipline, accountability, and a strong work ethic. Those lessons influenced how I approached athletics at the next level, and I still carry them with me to this day.”

“There were challenges along the way, but those moments made the successes more meaningful and helped shape who I am today,” Miller added. “I was fortunate enough to compete alongside my friends and coaches who pushed me to my potential. I am most proud of the relationships I built and having an athletic career considered worthy enough to be included in the Hall of Fame alongside a host of incredible athletes.”

Other guests of this event have not responded to The Tiger Times’ request for comment.
