Reporter Bio: Xavier Gibson

Xavier Gibson was born August 22, 2008, in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. He is currently a Senior at Fleetwood Area High School. Gibson always found an interest in writing and dove into many different genres to express it. Gibson primarily wrote with a  focus on journalistic and poetic topics. Gibson came to Fleetwood Area High School his Junior year after transferring from Academy Park High School in Delaware County. Gibson is currently involved in three of the four journalistic opportunities provided at Fleetwood Area High School, and he acts as president of Yearbook and Paw Print. At the start of the second semester of the school year, Gibson joined The Tiger Times. Gibson said he joined Tiger Times to have greater journalistic freedom, in comparison to his other avenues.  In his free time Gibson writes, plays video games, and listens to music. Gibson said his favorite artist is J. Cole because he has a unique style and raps about topics that are deeper than the surface level.  Gibson most recently took up the task of writing a book, completing it in tandem with his school and club work. Gibson said, “I have always liked writing, and ever since sophomore year, I wanted to make one. This year I thought I might as well do it and see how far I can get … So far, it has been really fun and definitely interesting.”   Gibson said he looks forward to his semester in Tiger Times and hopes to create many captivating and unique pieces (including on the subject of philosophy) into his writing.
