Talent in Short Supply for Canceled Talent Show

To the misfortune of the Fleetwood community, the talent show scheduled for Saturday, February 19th, was cancelled. Fashion Show Co-Coordinator and Spanish teacher Anita Lewis was very upset that Fleetwood students were not able to see the performers, and her heart goes out to the participants of the show who were hoping to show their skills onstage.

According to Lewis, the show was canceled because to too many people dropped out during the week leading up to the performance, and she was afraid that there would not be enough talent left to fill out the show.

FAHS Principal Michael DeAntonio was equally discouraged: “I feel bad for the students that participated and looked forward to it, but I understand her reasoning for canceling it.”

There is a possibility that the talent show will be rescheduled to a later date, but both DeAntonio and Lewis worry that history will repeat itself and they will once again have to cancel the event.

“I won’t put anyone through that again”, said Lewis.

Fleetwood student and talent show participant Freddy “ BeEezy” Evans did a lot of work to prepare for his performance.

“I had to make sure the lyrics were clean for the show, and that takes time. I think a lot of people worked hard as well on this, and it sucks it got cancelled,” said BeEezy.

Hopefully, the performers and all other students at FAHS will get a second chance to demonstrate—and witness—what would have been some impressive talent.
