Maynard Joins the Arts

FAHS senior Lyndsay Maynard never took any art electives before experiencing her first endeavor in the arts by participating in Senior Art.

She is a self-proclaimed realism artist whose mediums include various forms of paints, acrylic and water-color; as well as colored pencil, charcoal, ink, and pencil. The inspiration for Maynard’s work is whatever comes to her mind.

Her favorite artist is Georgia O’Keefe, and her favorite work by O’Keefe is her oil on canvas piece, Black Place II.

“I love her still life(s). The work she has done is full of precision and chaotic energy. Her emotional symbolism in her art really grabs my attention as well,” Maynard said.

Maynard has taken a strong liking to art and could see herself going into some form of arts as a career; however, she is undecided at the moment.
