Halloween is just around the corner, and there is no better way to spend your weekend than to take a trip to Field of Screams.

It is located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Field of Screams is open from 12 September until 9 November.

This year, Field of Screams has many new additions. They do their best to change it a little each year so it is not the same for returning guests. The Field of Screams Hayride will now include a pit-stop at an abandoned greenhouse infested with snakes. Also, the hayride will now include an effect that has never been performed in the country.

“I have never been to Field of Screams, but I think it looks neat, and I would like to go sometime this year!” twelfth grader Mike Osenbach said.

Going for a walk in the dark has never been so scary at the Nocturnal Wasteland Haunted Trail. Many new characters and paths have been added to this trail. Unfortunately, visitors may get trapped in the Boiler Room or Den of Darkness, making the temperature and your pulse rise!

Field of Screams will be holding a Zombie Fun Run 5K Event on 15 November 2014. This fun run is to benefit the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition. Another special event they will be holding is a D.J. Battle.

Field of Screams belongs to the Schopf brothers, who began working together in 1984. They first used their farm for normal purposes. Then they came up with the brilliant idea to transform their farm from growing crops to harvesting fear from many teens and adults.

This is one of the largest haunted attractions in the world. Field of Screams brings in over 80,000 customers during their 27 nights of operation.
The Haunted Hayride is a 20-minute journey that brings guests by Dirty Dan’s Moonshine Still. These hillbillies will not be happy when they see you trespassing on their camp. Then there is an encounter with Willie the Pig Farmer, and guests will have to watch an execution on the way to the guillotine.

The Den of Darkness is an original farmhouse that was built on the land in the 1800s. It is a three-and-a-half story house that has a dark and mysterious history. For the past 200-plus years, it has served many purposes. It has been a farmhouse, hotel, and the mansion estate of Francis Worth.

It was vacant for many years after many horrific and unexplained events that have occurred inside. It has had many deaths, disappearances, and missing reports, but there were never any arrests made. This year, the owners added an Insidious Room full of corpses and possibly a glimpse of the old woman who originally the owner.

Frightmare Asylum used to be AppleGate Mental Hospital, which sat neglected and unwanted for years. The deranged doctors and terribly scary nurses have returned. There is no mercy for visitors who enter. Changes have occurred in 2014 throughout the entire asylum.

The Nocturnal Wasteland opened in 2013 and was a big hit. It is unlike any other attractions. It is an outdoor trail that makes visitors walk through a forest that is filled with demented actors, scary effects, and many more terrifying events.

Field of Screams has its own Entertainment Area. It consists of the Field of Screams Bandstand. There is always some type of performance happening.

There is also a Scream Shop that has different souvenirs. They have T-shirts, hoodies, mugs, hats, and magnets.

A souvenir photo spot is where visitors can get their pictures taken with Field of Screams characters. Customers can have it taken in the guillotine or a Scare Shot photo that was taken while they were going through the Den of Darkness or Nocturnal Wasteland.

There are a variety of games at Field of Screams. A few of them are the Toxic Head Toss Game, Football Throw game, and Ring Toss Game.

Field of Screams also has a scare booth, which is an arcade-type game that allows players to control an exploding outhouse while guests walk by.

A new feature this year will be big screen movies. Guests are able to request which movie they would like to watch from a twitter account.

Visitors can also grab a bite to eat in between all the terror, as Field of Screams has over 50 varieties of food and drinks.

There is also a V.I.P. tower. This means, if you don’t want to wait in lines, you can pay $10.00 more in the months of September and November. It is $15.00 more on a Friday or Saturday in October. This fee is good for all four attractions.

Guests are able to pre-purchase tickets online.
