Every month two students are selected by the faculty to be students of the month at Fleetwood Area High School. The students who were selected for the month of December were Katrina Fullington and Joe Camaranno. Some of the criteria for being selected are working hard and being upstanding citizens.

Katrina Fullington works very hard and strives to get amazing grades. She has received highest honors every quarter throughout her high school career. She is involved in many extracurricular activities, such as jazz band, mock trial, fellowship of Christian students, and choreography for the school musicals each year. Outside of school, Katrina dances for a dance team, about which she is very passionate.

“I think Katrina is such a nice girl. She is very intelligent, and she is such a fun person to be around!” Senior Irene Licari said.

After high school, Katrina wants to attend a University to major in mathematics. She has a younger brother in seventh grade who looks up to her.

Joe Camaranno also does extremely well in school; he studies a lot and works hard. Joe is very passionate about art and is involved with Artifact. He also is in Honor Society. Joe wants to major in Neuroscience but is unsure about where he wants to attend. He has a younger brother who looks up to him daily.

“He is the student that sees the connection between art and science. He is equally gifted in both. His strengths are on fantasy drawing with colored pencils. I have been blessed to have Joey in class for the last four years, and I am looking forward to hearing about his future,” art teacher Diane Chisdak said.

For being student of the month, they both receive a gift card, parking spot, and a recognition at the board meeting.
