Fleetwood Hockey is coming into its upcoming season with more hope surrounding the team than ever before. Although the team has failed to record a win in its first two seasons, there is a plethora of hope that it can compete and get its first win in club history.
Jason Lindsley, the team’s captain, is among those who believe that this could be a big season for Fleetwood.
“The league is wide open this year, and we strongly feel like we can compete,” Lindsley said.
Assistant Captain Nick Matteo also believes that the team has a bright future.
“We have a lot of potential and a lot of young talent that could make a difference this year,” Matteo said.
Fleetwood’s hockey team is a definite candidate for improvement. Going into its third year of existence, Fleetwood Ice Hockey is still searching for an elusive first victory. To their credit, the unsuccessful past is not discouraging the team this year.
In order to secure the first win, the team will need to overcome the losses of 2015 graduates Rocco Russo, Frank Talarico, Logan Silvius, Matt Wanner, Xavier Garcia, Mike Osenbach, and Alex Remaley. While some team members acknowledge this will be difficult, there is overwhelming optimism that this will be the best year in club history.
The team took the ice for the first time on 15 November at 8:45 at Body Zone. They played against Exeter-Governor Mifflin.
