A bystander is a person who is present at an event or incident but does not take part. The FAHS Bystander Program is a performance about the role a bystander plays in bullying. The message is about how to avoid being a bystander, answering the question, What you can do if someone is put in a negative position by his or her peers?

The program was cancelled due to the minimum requirement on the amount of actors. According to guidance counselor Mr. Fred Engelardt, twenty students needed to sign up and hand in permission forms in order for the show to take place. Only fourteen people signed up, and only seven of them handed in their permission slips to make definite that they were eligible to perform.

“I figured this school could use a presentation like that,” junior Chris Logar said.

On 24 March, there were going to be two performances. One performance was going to be for the entire high school and one for the eighth graders in the middle school, both lasting approximately thirty minutes in length.

Engelhardt possibly plans on putting on another performance next year if more students sign up to be a part of the program.
