The students of the month for April 2018 are Shawn Bessey and Alicia Stitzel. They are both heavily involved in school activities.

Shawn is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Bessey of Blandon. Throughout his high school career, he has been a part of band, jazz band, wind ensemble, marching band, chorus, chorale, vocal ensemble, men’s chorus, tennis, swimming, FBLA, National History Club, drama club, and pit orchestra.

Bessey says he admires his younger sister because she works hard and doesn’t let negativity get to her.

“Becoming student of the month has kind of been a goal of mine since middle school,” Bessey said.

Bessey will be attending Penn State University Park to study Information Science and Technology.

Stitzel is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Todd Stitzel of Kutztown. Throughout her high school career, she has been involved in Student Council, FBLA, Relay for Life, Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society, and NHS.

“I feel really proud to receive this honor,” Stitzel said.
