The Fleetwood Tigers’ football team has turned its program around. They have improved offensively and defensively, all with the help of a new offensive game plan and some new players.

With losing seasons since 2014, the Fleetwood Tigers now have a chance of having a very successful year. The team has had a strong start to their season and hope to continue their success throughout the year.

The Tigers have only won a total of four games in the past three seasons. Currently, the team has a record of 6-1 for the first time in the program’s 19-year history.

The Maddocks brothers, Charlie, Owen, Tanner, and Lincoln, seemed to have made an impact on the team, as they were expected to.

The coaching staff changed the offense from a Wing-T in favor of a Spread in order to benefit the new quarterback and receivers.

The Tigers have been dominating on both sides of the ball with 12 takeaways this season and have had a current total of 2,911 yards.

After struggling last season going 2-8, the Tigers are focused on taking one game at a time.

Coming into the season, players could tell something was different from the previous years.

“We have a lot more depth,” senior lineman Alan Snyder said.

They are a more complete team now, with many returning players helping maintain the chemistry throughout the season. The Tigers’ seniors are looking at this season as their last push. All of their hard work throughout the years has come down to this year, as it is their last high school season.

The team is hoping to maintain the current momentum and keep playing at a high level for the remainder of the year.
