Seaman and Baez Sign Letters of Intent

Wesley Seamen and Alexis Baez kicked off their college careers by signing letters of intent. A letter of intent is a bonding agreement the school gives a student. Writing these letters is a big step in an athlete’s life, one that helps them to accomplish their dreams in sports.  

These two Fleetwood athletes chose to carry their craft into college life. Transitioning from high school into college can be beneficial to improve and learn new things. These athletes hope that, by participating in collegiate sports, they can improve their technique and give them outlets in adult life.  Baez and Seaman will also have access to sports professionals with more resources that could help to advance their careers.

Seamen chose Baldwin-Wallace University for football, and Baez chose Albright for soccer. Baldwin-Wallace is on the cusp of being one of the best football teams in the nation.  Albright was the best choice for Baez because the team has stood by her and, from day one, offered her advice with open arms. 

“I feel that I am a special player with more to prove, and I love it,” Seaman said.

Seaman has been a starter at Fleetwood for three years of work, helping him to grow in maturity with new opportunities. Fleetwood has also been a huge step for Baez, who describes her FAHS peers as a wonderful team that always challenges her to do what’s best. 

Both Baez and Seaman and credit their success to stellar coaches who knew the way of the game and how to guide students.

“Fleetwood has advanced my career by not only being great at soccer but also giving me such amazing teammates to work with. The coaches each year were also outstanding and knew exactly what they were talking about with the game of soccer,” Baez said.

Baez hopes Albright will help her by giving her the motivation to move forward and prove herself victorious by breaking old patterns. 

Meanwhile, Seaman hopes Baldwin-Wallace can teach him new techniques and help him acquire his goals of becoming the best in the nation.
