One of Fleetwood’s very own students will be participating in The special Olympics. This student’s name is Matt Foose. He is a junior at Fleetwood Area High School.

The event is the largest statewide competition, bringing more than 2,000 athletes and 750 coaches.

Competition in athletics, basketball, equestrian, golf, gymnastics, softball, swimming, and tennis highlight the three-day event.

Weeks of hard work and dedication in training are rewarded as athletes are cheered on and supported during competition by more than 1,000 enthusiastic volunteers.

Foose is going to be swimming at this event. This is not the first time that he has done this before, so he will have some experience.

¨I think it is very cool that he is participating in an event like that,” FAHS junior Ben Heller said.
