Fleetwood Area High School teachers Ms. Tara Carino and Mr. Marc Walter were recently awarded an all-expenses paid trip to Milan, Italy, to attend a professional symposium. They will convene with educators from around the globe while also experiencing all that Milan has to offer.
The two hope to share and take in ideas from educators around the world.
Walter was given the trip by the company, EF Educational Tours, which rewarded him for their collaborations in the past. Because of their ongoing collaboration in the FAHS English department, Carino also attended the symposium.
The event itself is a five-day trip to attend Global Educator Weekend in Milan. Walter and Carino will embark on various activities and sightseeing experiences with their fellow attendees.
Walter intends to continue working with EF Educational Tours in the future in order to secure more international trips. Carino was never connected to EF Educational Tours, but she is interested in “…what it can provide to students.”
Both are excited to arrive in Milan, especially considering it was a huge cultural center during the Renaissance, a frequent topic in literary history. The educators will be able to tour the city, including the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza, where the Formula One Italian Grand Prix takes place.
