Injustice Offers Thrilling Superhero Showdowns

Injustice: Gods Among Us is a 2D fighting game developed by Netherrealm Studios. It features playable heroes and villains from across the DC Comics universe.

There are 24 total playable characters in Injustice, including Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, and the Joker. Each character has his or her own unique move set and special moves, based on powers from the DC comics. This translates well into a fighting game, and there is great replay value in learning each character’s strengths and weaknesses.

Stages in Injustice have stage transitions and interactive environments. Some examples of this may include knocking your opponent off of a ledge or smashing them with a car. This offers a chance to change the momentum of a match and to do some serious damage.

The game has several different single-player modes, such as a deep and fulfilling story mode, S.T.A.R. Labs, a battle mode, and a practice mode, as well as a local and online multiplayer mode. S.T.A.R. Labs is a mode where players can partake in over 100 mini games that feature all playable characters in the game, creating a fun and different experience from the rest of the game’s features.

Injustice’s online mode has a few different features. Players can participate in one-on-one battles with other players, which runs smoothly but can take time to find available opponents. Also available is a king-of-the-hill mode, which is a ladder system in which players fight challengers to get to and stay at the top.

Injustice does not come without its flaws, however; some characters can be exploited online (such as Deathstroke’s machine gun being used the entire time, making it impossible to defeat him) or the confusing clash system, where players can wager a part of their “super meter” to clash with opponents and deal damage or regain health. It was an unnecssary game mechanic that offers nothing and could easily have been left out.

Although not perfect, Injustice: Gods Among Us still has a lot to offer to both fighting game and comic book fans alike. It’s great replay value and downloadable characters should leave fans happy for the foreseeable future.
