Every month, two students, one male and one female from the senior class, are selected by Fleetwood Area High School faculty as the Students of the Month. These students who are selected receive a special parking spot and a gift card to a place of their choosing.

For the month of January, both students proves to be some of the best among the senior class. Matthew Dybowski was selected alongside Shelby Claytor for January’s award.

Matthew Dybowski is the son of Mr. Stephen Dybowski and Mrs. Sherry Dybowski. He is a member of many groups within the school, including National Honor Society, Rho Kappa Honor Society, Interact Club, Science Olympiad, Chess Club, Basketball, Tennis, Track & Field, and Football.

In addition to Dybowski’s extracurricular activities, he is highly involved in helping out in his community. In his free time, Matthew volunteers with The Greater Berks Food Bank, Relay for Life Safe Trick or Treat, and Breakfast Brothers. After High School, Dybowski plans to attend a four-year university to major in engineering. Dybowski admires his parents most because they have given him endless love and support in everything he does.

Shelby Claytor is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Claytor. She is a member of Science Olympiad, Artifact Fine Arts Magazine, Film Club, Marching Band, Jazz Band, Choraliers, National Art Honor Society, National Honor Society, and Rho Kappa Honor Society.

Claytor also donates her time to the Girl Scouts and is a camp counselor at Girl Scout Camp. After High School, Shelby plans to attend college to study materials science and engineering. She admires Rosalind Franklin most of all because she pushed boundaries as a female chemist.
