Many Americans want to move the Super Bowl to a Saturday instead of a Sunday!
These individuals think of the Super Bowl as a national holiday because it happens once a year and millions of people are watching and trying to buy tickets to the game. Unfortunately, many don’t like how the game is played on a Sunday, which means they have to go to work the next day.
The Monday after the game, 17.2 million people end up not going to work because they are at parties until 12:00 or 1:00 in the morning. These people want the Super Bowl on Saturday so they can sleep in. Moreover, the NFL commissioner is on board.
“The people will be watching. Bigger party. And I think the economic impact would be easier to have on a Saturday,” Commissioner Goodell said.
But every idea has its flaws. The commissioner also feels that the NFL would get more viewers on Sunday.
The individuals who have signed the petition think that it would be best for them because they wouldn’t have to worry about having to go to work the next day, and some restaurants are not open on Sundays, so they can’t get their favorite food for the Super Bowl. They also feel that they could give their Monday 100% instead of not coming in at all.
This nationwide petition is the product of one high school student by the name of Frank Ruggeri, age eighteen, from Florida.
