The 2022 Fleetwood Prom was held on 6 May 2022 at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Reading. The Starry Nights and Bright Lights themed event was filled with long-lasting memories.
The event was from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and seeing all of the students dressed up was half the fun.
Around 6:00 p.m., food was served. There were plenty of options, such as pasta, mac and cheese, fettuccine with broccoli, a salad bar, and an ice cream station with various toppings.
After the food was put away, the dance floor was packed. It was a bit crowded and sometimes a little difficult to dance, but the D.J. made sure everyone was having a good time.
“I thought that the music was okay even though there were a couple really good songs missed. I would say, overall, the D.J. kept the party moving,” junior Kaitlyn Pytleski said.
There were two different nominations: prom king and queen for seniors, and prom prince and princess for juniors.
For the seniors, Hunter Boyer and Natalie Slusser were crowned as prom king and queen. The juniors voted Andrew Haas and Delani Walker as prom prince and princess.
Walker was shocked when her name was called.
“It was so great. I truly was not expecting it at all, and it was just such a great feeling,” Walker said.
Prom was an overall great night, despite the rainy weather making driving more challenging. Finding a place for pictures was difficult, and the weather added the risk of makeup and hair getting ruined.
Nevertheless, Fleetwood students pushed through the rain and made prom 2022 a night to remember.
