On 12 April, The Future Business Leaders of America Awards of Excellence program was held in Hershey, PA. Fleetwood members of FBLA were awarded for their achievements at this year’s competitions.

The Fleetwood chapter of FBLA was recognized for its accomplishments this season. It received eighth place in the entire state, also known as the William Seldon Outstanding Chapter Award. Only 10 out of 280 chapters across the entire state of PA receive this award. Students work hard at regional competitions to complete the required goals for FBLA, and the school submits the required paperwork in order to qualify for this award.

The Fleetwood chapter was also awarded sixth place in the state for community service hours logged by its members during this year. Junior FBLA member Hannah Nied placed eighth individually for her community service hours.

Multiple individual Fleetwood students were recognized at the awards ceremony.

The team of Emily Walbert and Hannah Nied placed seventh in Hospitality and Event Management.

“I think it’s a wonderful ceremony to recognize all the hardworking students we have. I enjoyed watching my friends get awards and seeing them be recognized for all the stress they put themselves through,” Walbert said.

Gabriella Williams placed sixth in Introduction to Public Speaking, Gabe Siegfried placed seventh in Introduction to Social Media Strategy, Rachelle Atchina placed fifth in Introduction to Parliamentary Procedure, and the team of Josh Felker and Hailey Olivieri placed fifth in Broadcast Journalism.

Business teacher Mrs. Kelly Ackerman and her Fleetwood FBLA students work hard to do well at these awards ceremonies.
