For the month of October, seniors Melania Chiarelli and Delaney Devlin were announced as Students of the Month.
Both students are involved in multiple activities in and out of school.
Melania, the daughter of Anita and Gianluca, has taken part in soccer, drama club, yearbook, student council, and chorus. For the community, she is a helping hand at her church by providing breakfasts and dinners for her congregation.
Due to her diligence, Melania’s teachers chose to give her the award. While being grateful, Melania did not know how to react.
“After Mr. Herman handed me the award, I was in shock. I had no idea! I was happy and confused, and when I walked out of his office, there were five or so people there congratulating me. It was just a good crazy experience,” Chiarelli said.
After high school, Melania plans to further her education by attending a university and obtaining a degree in fine arts.
Delaney Devlin, the daughter of Tricia and Neil, also received the Student of the Month award.
Just like Melania, Delaney helps her school and community. She is involved with swimming, the women’s empowerment club, and Relay For Life. Devlin also assists with blood drives at school.
After graduating from high school, Delaney plans to attend a university in hopes of becoming a nurse practitioner.
“I like helping people and being there for others. Through nursing, I can achieve that in an advanced way,” Devlin said.
