Ms. Vanessa Baker is a new math teacher in the Fleetwood Area School District. She teaches 10th and 11th grade in room 206.

Teaching SAT prep, geometry, and Algebra 2, she is 22 years old, and she graduated from Albright College in the Spring of 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Secondary teaching.

Baker grew up in Sinking Spring, a small town in Pennsylvania with a population of around 4,500. She went to Conrad Weiser School District for elementary, middle, and high school.

Baker originally wanted to go into the medical field; however, she soon realized that bodily fluids are not something she can stomach. She was inspired to become a teacher because of a teacher from her high school years, Ms. Wolfe. Ms.Wolfe woke something up inside of Baker, making her want to become a teacher.

The reason she picked math is that it has always been her favorite subject in school. Her favorite class was math, and she was a straight-A student. When it comes to teaching, she wants to be exactly like Ms.Wolfe.

“She is very well organized,” one of Baker’s fellow teachers, Ms. Katrina Fulington, said.

Student James Tiemann found her to be extremely thorough with explanations for lessons.

Baker also seems to be getting acquainted with the school district of Fleetwood. She is the new leader of the ski club. She is also a coach for the soccer team.
