It is that time of the month again when the students-of-the-month are announced. The students-of-the-month for March were Connor Tucci and Meghan Emery.  Meghan and Connor have both displayed strong academic work and great character.

“I think I was selected to be student-of-themMonth because I am fortunate enough to have good relationships with teachers who recognize my dedication to my art as well as other school work,” Emery said.

“I would have to guess I was selected to be Student-of-the-month mostly because I try my best to support my peers and put forth my best effort when I can towards my classes and extracurricular activities,” Tucci said.

After high school, Emery plans to attend Millersville University to pursue a career in art education. Emery has enjoyed art since a young age and hopes she can inspire the younger generation to enjoy it too.

“I am looking forward to wrapping up this chapter of my life in the next few months with the art show and NAHS (National Art Honors Society) ceremony. I am hoping to display a level of dedication to fine art that earns admiration from my professors in college as well as continuing to make my loved ones proud,” Emery said.

Tucci plans to attend Bucknell to pursue a mechanical engineering degree. Currently, Tucci involves himself in many school clubs and activities, such as orchestra, band, chorus, jazz band, wind ensemble, Model UN, student council, Science Olympiad, mock trial, National Honor Society, Rho Kappa Historical Honor Society, stage crew, tennis, cross country, volleyball, and marching band.

“Being student-of-the-Month is nice to feel recognized for my hard work ethic. I think everyone appreciates a pat on the back once in a while to remind them that they are a valued part of the school,” Tucci said.

Alongside winning student-of-the-month comes the right to park in the student-of-the-month parking spot in the parking lot.

“I have definitely taken advantage of the student-of-the-month parking spot,” Tucci said.

“I am parking there right now!” Emery said.

Both Emery and Tucci will try to continue to keep up the great work and continue to work toward their future goals.
